Removing and washing of mesh filter should be carried out next. Water should be warmed and soap should be added to it in order to clean grill. One should also bleach grill so that there is no danger of mold anymore. After washing and cleaning put the filter and grill in dish drain and wait till they are completely dried.
With the help of a vacuum having a brush clean the evaporator coils and remove any sort of dust with the help of plastic scrub brush.
Fins are also needed to be cleaned. They should be cleaned with the help of fin comb that can be bought from any appliance store. Since they are sensitive one should be careful while cleaning them. Turn the back of air conditioner towards yourself you will see the condenser coils. These coils should be cleaned in the same way as those of evaporator coils. Inner body should also be checked whether it is dirt free or is it necessary to clean it from inside as well.
Fan of air conditioner has also to be cleaned during this process. Vacuum and brush attachment should be used to achieve this task. After the fan has also been cleaned the cleaning process is completed so the air conditioner should be placed again in the window. Grill and filters should be fixed in the same way as they were before. Now plug in the air conditioner. Once one has gone through the above listed steps he will definitely feel the improvement in the performance of air conditioner. Servicing air conditioner at home is not a big deal.
